How to prepare a good PowerPoint in 30 minutes

How to prepare a good PowerPoint in 30 minutes
As I mentioned last week, during the case analysis stage at OCMC, the case teams have only 30 minutes to analyze the case and prepare an effective PowerPoint presentation that will wow the judges. This is a daunting task! How do you make a whole seven slide PowerPoint that will set you apart in just 30 minutes?

Little Bit on the stage

I attended a great networking event lately, organized by “Positive Fabulous Women’s” group. There was a speaker who challenged everybody to do their elevator speech. He asked for some volunteers & I had to challenge myself & raise my hand up.

Although I was not ready, he asked me to come up the stage.  My heart started to beat fast, thinking what did I just get myself into. But I was very eager to do it. I wanted him to challenge me & to put me on the spot.

So there I go, up the stage, my heart beating fast & my hands starting to sweat.
As I was handed the microphone, I lost my train of thought… I thought I had it all in my head, but I lost it…So through my time on the stage, he of course gave me great tips. Good constructive criticism is what I was looking for. And I knew, I would learn…

Here’s what I learnt:
  1. Not only that public speaking is a great skill, but you can learn it…
  2. Start early. The minute you know you are shy. “Oh, I won’t go” because you are scared or shy, indicates that you should actually do it.
  3. Lesson in life- anything you want to do, do it NOW! Go through the process, beat it and become victory of it.

Finally, people always ask me, how come you have so much energy? The reason is because I know I have so much to learn during my time here. I have so much to offer and I am ready to embrace it. So come on and join us…
